Tuesday, June 17, 2014

On June 19th, The Women's Collective is partnering with the United Way of the National Capital Area, local nonprofits, and thousands of area residents in a 24-hour campaign to create solutions to our community’s most pressing challenges.

The Women's Collective stands alone as DC's only woman and girl-focused agency that decreases health disparities and improves health outcomes by addressing barriers to care for women and girls living with and at risk for HIV/AIDS while advocating together for our rights.

Women and girls who benefit directly from our services are often underserved and marginalized. They face other chronic health conditions making HIV just one complication among many. They they are often living on the margins — poverty is the single largest factor in making them vulnerable to HIV.

You can help us make a difference in our community where 9 out of 10 women that test positive for HIV are African-American and it is estimated that one in 32 Black women will be diagnosed with HIV in her lifetime.

Help us to strengthen our mission to protect the health and rights of women and girls in DC's most afflicted neighborhoods via DoMore24!
