Kitchen Pantry News

Our Kitchen Pantry program supports women, girls and families. If you are interested in making donations this holiday season, please contact Meredith, Care Team Coordinator.

We would like to thank Norman's Farm Market and it's Farm to Folks program for donating fresh produce to families for the holidays! Visit their site and find out about their CSA programs, roadsite markets and more.

Free HIV Testing

The Women's Collective offers free testing for HIV to anyone seeking to know their status and take control of thier health.

HIV screening is happening from 9 am to 5 pm Monday thru Friday. Walk-ins accepted - no appointment necessary.

Find additional HIV testing sites around the nation as part of the Act Against AIDS campaign!

This is a unique and critical approach that ensures women and their family members feel welcome here at all times, under any circumstances.

In the same spirit, we'd like to introduce you to womenscollective.org, our home on the internet.

The Women's Collective is a unique non-profit in the District of Columbia that provides HIV Care Management, HIV Prevention Services, and Policy and Advocacy to/for women, girls and families.

Commemorate National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day with TWC

nbhaadThis National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, TWC will be celebrating the lives and struggles of Black women facing the epidemic with the following two events:

  • Open Mic at LIV Nightclub / Tuesday, February 7 
    TWC will host an Open Mic event at LIV Nightclub, located at 2001 11th Street, NW at 6:00-10:00pm. The Women's Collective is collaborating with "Up and Up Open Microphone" to present "Protection Over Pleasure: Demystifying The Pleasure Principle in the Black Community".The event will feature happy hour specials, condom demonstrations, live performances around the theme, “I Am My Brother’s/Sister’s Keeper”starting at 7:00pm, and TWC’s mobile testing van will be parked outside the venue. Join us before the show begins during happy hour to see condom demonstrations, receive education and get any questions or concerns answered.For more information about the event, please contact Latishia.
  • Happy Hour at Lace Lounge & Bar / Tuesday, February 7 
    Lace, located at 2214 Rhode Island Ave, NE. will be hosting a Happy Hour to celebrate Life! The Happy Hour will feature $3 rail drink specials and $4 wine through 7:00pm, as well as $5 rail drinks through midnight. There will also be food specials and a free Chef Tasting. Come enjoy good music and dancing. $5 donations will be greatly appreciated, all donations benefit The Women’s Collective.

We can connect you via the Red Carpet Entry Program with most appointments occuring within 48 hours. The program is open to all regardless of whether or not you have insurance.
