A Rally to Demand a Comprehensive,
District-Wide Strategy to End HIV/AIDS in Washington, DC
On Monday, December 3, from 3:30-5:30pm, a diverse coalition of advocates and community-based organizations will stand together to demand that the Mayor and his Commission on HIV/AIDS develop and implement a comprehensive district-wide strategy to end HIV/AIDS in the District of Columbia.
We are very proud and excited to be well underway in our working in partnership with Maria De Jesus, PhD, Assistant Professor in the School of International Service at American University on a DC D-CFAR study titled "HIV-Related Perceptions Among East African & African American Women in DC."
With the much anticipated arrival of XIX International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2012) to Washington, DC during the week of July 22-27, 2012, we concentrated on this unique opportunity to address the critical issues facing women, girls, and families in D.C. on an international stage.
We are proud to announce that TWC is one of four new organizations selected to join the Fair Chance family of DC-based organizations serving children, youth and families.
The vision and mission of Fair Chance is simple and powerful:
"We believe that every child in the District of Columbia deserves a Fair Chance to succeed, our mission is to strengthen the sustainability of nonprofit organizations and their leaders to transform the lives of children and youth living in poverty."
