TWC Digital Communications Plan 2013-2014

The Women’s Collective was selected as 1 of 9 awardees of the Microfund Program. This grant allowed TWC to create D.C’s first ever comprehensive ‘Digital Community Outreach Plan’, specifically for low-income African-American women and girls. To support the development of the ‘Plan,’ TWC conducted D.C’s first-ever woman and girl specific formative research to generate local-level data on the availability and usage of social media to access health information. This is a powerful opportunity to improve health information access for the most marginalized women in our community.

TWCs Digital Communications Plan 2013 – 2014 enables the agency to bridge disparities in health information access, by promoting informed actions among our target population, and by advocating for policy reforms, that lead to reduced rates of HIV/AIDS and facilitates linkage to care and support services for women and girls.

Thank you to for recognizing the need for digital engagement at the community level.
